The following companies are currently using Micronova’s R&D facilities:

Oy AJAT Ltd, a company designing, developing and manufacturing state-of-the-art radiation digital imaging devices, has been renting Micronova’s office, cleanroom and laboratory facilities since 2001. Micronova’s facilities give AJAT an opportunity to focus on what is most important: product development and market penetration.

The company is targeting the dental, industrial and medical markets. AJAT uses primarily Micronova’s thin film cleanroom facility and associated equipment including the lithography area and sputtering equipment.

  • OptoGaN Oy - GaN for light emitters

OptoGan was founded in late 2004 and it is owned by Dr (tech) Maxim Odnoblyudov and Vladislav Bougrov. There is at the moment 12 people working for OptoGaN Oy, of which five are in Finland and seven in Germany. The clients of the company are businesses, the majority located in Asia and Europe.
The company's products, High Brightness LED wafers and chips, as well as the manufacturing process have been developed on Micronova's equipment and in close co-operation with the Optoelectronics research group from Helsinki University of Technology.

  • Picosun Oy - Atomic Layer Deposition tools for nanotechnology

Picosun Oy, which has its premises in Espoo, Finland, develops and manufactures ALD reactors for microelectronics and nanotechnology. ALD method was invented in Finland by Dr. Tuomo Suntola in 1974. With his help Picosun has succeeded in developing inexpensive yet highly efficient ALD tools for research and development.

Picosun’s skilled experts with more than 30 years of experience in ALD and wide research network provide working solutions for customers. Picosun’s mission is to provide the customers with user-friendly, reliable and affordable tools. The easy scalability of Picosun’s reactors provides its partners with an effective pathway from R&D to production. Picosun is a part of Stephen Industries Inc Oy.

  • Vaisala Oy - Meteorological and environmental measurement systems

The Vaisala Group is a successful international technology company that develops, manufactures and markets electronic measurement systems and products. Application areas include meteorology, environmental sciences, traffic and industry. Vaisala products are used in over 100 countries.

Parent company Vaisala Oyj, domicile in Finland, is listed on the Helsinki Exchanges in Finland. The Vaisala Group employs over 1,000 professionals and has offices and operations in Finland, North America, France, United Kingdom, Germany, China, Sweden, Malaysia, Japan and Australia.

  • Beneq Oy - Equipment and technology for functional coatings

Beneq is a nanotechnology driven company offering industrialised equipment and technology for functional coatings. Beneq's offering includes equipment based on nHALO™ and ALD technologies.

nHALO™ is a flame spray technology, used mainly for applying functional coatings on glass and ceramic tiles. It is also used for multicomponent nanoparticle synthesis. ALD systems are used to produce accurate, pinhole-free and conformal thin-film coatings on various substrates. In addition to the traditional applications of ALD, we also offer coating solutions for other industrial applications.

  • Aivon Oy - SQUID detectors, cryogenic detectors and low-noise readout electronics

Aivon Oy offers superconducting quantum interference devices (SQUIDs) for measurements of ultra-low magnetic fields or electric currents. The sensors are operated at cryogenic temperatures achievable by liquid helium or modern cryocoolers. In addition to standard sensors and electronics we offer custom design, fabrication, assembly and testing to meet your R&D requirements. Aivon Oy is the market leader in sales of SQUID detectors of the world.

We also design, assemble and test customized low-noise readout electronics for the sensors. Aivon designs and sells other low temperature detectors as well. Silicon chips and sensors are manufactured in the Micronova’s cleanroom with state-of-the-art equipment.

  • Silecs Oy - Dielectric materials for microelectronics
